While the Committee of the whole debated technology transfer, intellectual property rights Friday, incentive measures and biosafety, working groups and informal negotiations continued the negotiations, some meeting over the weekend as well.

UK delegate Representatives of Senegal (above left), Uganda (above right) and the UK (left) were among those addressing COP-3 Friday. Uganda called for a work programme on incentives. Senegal asked for information on the private sector's role in capacity building, and the UK urged capacity building related to biosafety.

Mohamad Reza Selamat, Iran Terry Jones, Seychelles
Manfred Schneider, Austria Contact groups: The working group on finance chaired by Iran's Mohamad Reza Selamat (above left) formed a small group to deal with part of its negotiations. A new Working Group was formed on input to the special session of the UN General Assembly, chaired by Terry Jones of the Seychelles (above right). The Working Group on agricultural biodiversity chaired by Austria's Manfred Schneider (left) produced bracketed text over the weekend.
