Fourth meeting of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee (POPRC-4) to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)

Highlights for Thursday, 16 October 2008
On Thursday, the Committee continued progress with its agenda, completing deliberations on c-octaBDE, PeCB, alpha-HCH and beta-HCH.
On Thursday, POPRC-4 considered many issues, including: conflict-of-interest procedures; the format of recommendations for listing; draft RMEs for commercial octabromodiphenyl ether (c-octaBDE), pentachlorobenzene (PeCB), alpha- and beta-hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH); and the draft risk profile for short-chained chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs).

On Friday, POPRC-4 will continue discussions on, inter alia, endosulfan, activities to enhance effective participation by parties in the work of the POPRC, toxic interactions between POPs, and adoption of the POPRC-4 report.
