GreenPeace Display Berlin Mandate Negotiations Begin
GreenPeace activists welcomed delegates to negotiations with a large dinosaur made of automobile parts (above), as delegates began the final discussions prior to Kyoto. Ambassador Toshiaki Tanabe (below left) spoke with reporters and later outlined Japan's proposal for a 5% reduction. Executive Secretary Michael Zammit-Cutajar and AGBM Chair Raul Estrada Oyuela (below center) spoke before the session. Tanzania (below right) presented the G-77/China's proposal for emissions reductions totalling 20% by 2020,
