On Friday morning, delegates to the fourth meeting of the second session of the Ad Hoc Working Group of the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP 2-4) under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) concluded discussions in the open-ended consultations on Item 3 (implementation of all items related to Decision 1/CP.17, establishment of the ADP) on nationally determined contributions, transparency of action and support, and other issues.
In the afternoon, the closing session of the technical expert meetings convened for reports by the facilitators of the meetings on renewable energy and energy efficiency. Parties also reflected on the technical expert meeting process and workstream 2.
Closing plenary convened at 5:38pm. Parties agreed to establish a contact group, to begin its work after the opening plenary of the fifth meeting of the second session of the ADP (ADP 2-5) in June. Parties also agreed to an additional session of the ADP, to be held in Bonn, Germany, during the third week of October, before COP 20 in Lima, Peru. Parties then presented their closing statements. The second session of the ADP was suspended at 7:14 pm. |
