The eight High Level Assembly (HLA) of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to Reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (CCAC) will take place on 14 November 2016 in Marrakech, Morocco, on the margins of the 22nd session of the Conference of Parties (COP 22) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The CCAC is a voluntary international coalition of governments, international organizations and non-governmental organizations, which focuses on addressing short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs). It was created in February 2012 by Bangladesh, Canada, Ghana, Mexico, Sweden and the US, together with the UN Environment Programme. It is open to countries and non-state actors wishing to join the coalition.

The role of the High Level Assembly of the Coalition partners is to set policy, take stock of progress and initiate future efforts. The 8th HLA will contribute to the discussions on implementing the Paris Agreement, specifically highlighting opportunities to reduce methane and black carbon emissions, and scaling up policy work on black carbon.
