The 2017 edition of the Low-Emissions Solutions Conference (LESC) will take place on Monday, 13 November 2017, during COP 23. Recognizing both the scale of the challenge in implementing ambitious nationally determined contributions (NDCs), and the need to take action at the city, local, and project level, this year’s LESC will focus on the theme “Implementation at Scale.”

The LESC was launched at COP22 in Marrakech in 2016 to support the preparation of NDCs and Low-Emission Development Strategy (LEDS) that embody state-of-the-art technical understanding. LESC is co-organized by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and ICLEI-Local Government for Sustainability (ICLEI).

This Conference at COP 23 will bring together global leaders who are taking bold action and aims to create a space for in-depth dialogue with policy-makers. Spotlight presentations will facilitate rich dialogue on what is still needed and how public-private partnerships can support the common objectives between nations, cities, business, and academia. The outcomes of this event will be made available to the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action High Level Roundtable on Innovation on 14 November.
