The 45th session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC-45) will convene in Guadalajara, Mexico, from 28-31 March 2017, and will be preceded by the 53rd session of the IPCC Bureau on 26-27 March. During IPCC-45, delegates will consider the IPCC Programme and Budget, including the budget for the years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, and resource mobilization. It will also consider reports on: communications and outreach activities; the IPCC carbon footprint; the future of the Task Group on Data and Scenario Support for Impact and Climate Analysis (TGICA); and the Strategic Planning Schedule for the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6).

Regarding AR6 products, the IPCC will discuss outlines of the: Special Report on climate change, oceans and the cryosphere (SROCC); and Special Report on climate change, desertification, land degradation, sustainable land management, food security, and greenhouse gas fluxes in terrestrial ecosystems (SR2). The meeting that produced the draft outline for the SROCC was held from 6-9 December in Monaco. The meeting to produce the SR2 was held from 13-16 February in Dublin, Ireland. IPCC-45 will also take up agenda items on admission of observer organizations and the IPCC Scholarship Programme.
