Highlights for Thursday, 27 September 2012
On Thursday, 27 September, the First Meeting of Signatories to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Conservation of Migratory Sharks concluded in Bonn, Germany. This was followed by a plenary session and the adoption of the Conservation Plan, discussion of remaining administrative and budgetary matters, and the authorization of cooperating partners. In the afternoon plenary session, participants discussed the Advisory Committee and each region nominated experts to serve on this. In a mid-afternoon ceremony, the Human Society International (US and Australia chapters) signed on to the MoU for Migratory Sharks as partner organizations. Following closing statements, the meeting concluded at 3:45 pm.
