DAILY WEB COVERAGE

The seventh Asia Clean Energy Forum convened on Friday, 8 June 2012, for a third day in Manila, the Philippines. In the morning, participants first convened for an opening plenary session on the Future of the Global Financial Architecture for Climate Change. Participants then split into four breakout sessions on: financing mechanisms for sustainable business innovations; e-vehicle for developing Asia – a case study of market transformation and technology transfer; energy efficiency in built environments; and strategies for developing and monetizing carbon credits in times of transition.

In the afternoon, four additional breakout sessions were held on: clean energy access in south Asia; scaling up geothermal power and generation in Asia; building capacity for effective policies and regulations; and strategies and business models for scaling up financing of clean energy. In the later afternoon, a closing plenary session convened on Pathway to a Low-Carbon Future.

The forum closed at 5:50 pm.
