In the morning, IUCN members concluded consideration of the motions for resolutions and recommendations, and approved the IUCN Programme 2005-2008, the Commission mandates and the Financial Plan for 2005-2008. In the afternoon, members convened for the closing plenary to hear a presentation by the President elect Mohammed Valli Moosa and the outgoing President Yolanda Kakabadse.

AWARDS: The John C Philips Memorial Medal was awarded to Luc Hoffmann. The Wolfgang Burhenne Award for CEL service was award to Professor Alexander Kiss. Honorary Membership of IUCN was awarded to Adrian Phillips, Marshall Murphree, and Yolanda Kakabadse.

Participants enjoyed a performance of classical Thai dancing before the close of Plenary
