populations in combating desertification.

institutional strengthening in the aftermath of Hurricane Mitch.

Executive
Secretary Diallo, supported by UZBEKISTAN among others, stressed
the importance of elaborating a fifth annex to the Convention and
said informal consultations will be finalized once the countries
concerned accede to Party status.

SWEDEN
