Israel Torres, Panama, suggested focusing more on the four-year work plan, as the two-year work programme will end in one year. |

Guillermo Avanzini, Peru, recommended that the CST establish a calendar for effective implementation of the programme. |

| Saida Rivero, Venezuela, said preparatory materials are needed to develop appropriate indicators. |
CSOs stressed the links between community involvement, information dissemination, behavior change and impact, and asked how much money is directed towards at these activities. |

In the afternoon session, Chair Dar introduced the draft on advice from the CST to the CRIC on measuring progress on Strategic Objectives 1, 2 and 3 for consideration and approval by the CST.

On Thursday evening, the Global Mechanism organized a side event on innovative finance for the UNCCD. The event's objective was to present the innovative financing initiative generally, and the development of a methodological framework on the innovative financing instruments and mechanisms which are most appropriate for use in dry and degrading lands specifically.
