The Vienna Energy Forum 2015 (VEF 2015) will take place in Vienna, Austria from 18-20 June. The Forum is organized by the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs (BMEIA), Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) and Austrian Development Coorporation (ADA).

The theme for VEF 2015 will be “Sustainable Energy for Inclusive Development”. It will bring together leaders, policy makers and energy practitioners to engage in a multi-stakeholder dialogue on pivotal sustainable energy issues connected to inclusive development such as partnerships, finance, policy, technology capacity building and knowledge management. It will also consider the impact of global drivers such as population growth and urbanization, as well as regional approaches including South-South cooperation and nexus issues linking energy to water, food and health.

VEF2015 also aims to contribute to the UN summit for the adoption of the post-2015 development agenda taking place in September 2015 and the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties taking place in December 2015, by emphasizing the multiple benefits of both the post-2015 development agenda and the climate agenda, and by showcasing best practices and actions on the ground.
