Second Meeting of the Open-ended Intergovernmental Ad Hoc Expert Group on the International Arrangement on Forests (AHEG2) of the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF)

The second meeting of the open-ended intergovernmental ad hoc expert group on the international arrangement on forests (AHEG2) for the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF) will convene from 12 to 16 January 2015 at UN Headquarters, in New York, US.

AHEG2 will review the performance and effectiveness of the international arrangement on forests based on input provided by various stakeholders. Among other issues, the expert group will consider options and actions related to the: Forest Instrument; implementation and financing of sustainable forest management; UNFF and its Secretariat; and Collaborative Partnership on Forests. AHEG2 will also discuss the involvement of major groups and regional entities in the international arrangement on forests after 2015. In preparation for the eleventh meeting of the UNFF (UNFF11), AHEG2 will discuss key issues for inclusion in a UNFF11 resolution on the international arrangement on forests beyond 2015.
