UNFF10
The tenth session of the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF10) continued on Friday, 12 April. Working Group I met throughout the day, discussing forests and economic development in the morning, and assessment of progress made on the implementation of the Forest Instrument and towards the achievement of the four Global Objectives on Forests (GOFs), regional and subregional inputs, and enhanced cooperation on policy and programme coordination, including the provision of further guidance to the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF), in the afternoon. Working Group II also met throughout the day and discussed means of implementation (MoI) for sustainable forest management (SFM) in the morning, and emerging issues in the afternoon. A stocktaking plenary took place in the evening to review progress.

Side events took place during lunch and in the evening on: reporting to UNFF10; dry forests; realizing the development and investment potential of locally controlled forestry; certification as a screening tool for investment in the forest sector; and social and economic considerations on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks in developing countries (REDD+), biodiversity and people.
