UNFF10
The 10th session of the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF10) continued on Monday, 15 April. Working Group I (WGI) met throughout the day, discussing forests and economic development in the morning, and assessment of progress made on the implementation of the Forest Instrument and towards the achievement of the four Global Objectives on Forests (GOFs), regional and subregional inputs, and enhanced cooperation on policy and programme coordination, including the provision of further guidance to the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF), in the afternoon. Working Group II (WGII) discussed emerging issues in the morning, and means of implementation (MoI) for sustainable forest management (SFM) in the afternoon. In both working groups the zero draft of the decision text was introduced. Member States made general comments on the text and then commenced with the first reading of the text.

Side events took place during the lunch period on forestry activities in Turkey and on good business - making private investment work for forests.
Every April the city of Istanbul celebrates the International Tulip Festival. This year more than
14 million tulips from 270 varieties have been planted throughout the city for the said event. Tulips
are considered one of Istanbul and Turkey's cultural emblems. Photo by Franz Dejon
