The 47th meeting of the GEF Council will convene in Washington, DC, from 28-30 October 2014. The GEF Council will consider a full agenda, with topics including: Annual Monitoring Review; Results-based Management Action Plan; GEF-6 Non-Grant Instrument Pilot and Updated Policy for Non-Grant Instruments; Improving the GEF Project Cycle; the Country Support Programme Implementation; Gender Equality Action Plan; Conversation with the Executive Secretaries of the Conventions; Relations with Conventions and Other International Institutions; Progress Report on the Pilot Accreditation of GEF Project Agencies and Timeline for Further Discussion of Accreditation; Progress Report of the GEF Independent Evaluation Office Director; Report of the Chairperson of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel; Stocktaking of Integrated Approach Pilots Preparation; and Report of the Selection and Review Committee. A Work Program, which inaugurates the GEF-6 programming period and consists of 15 project concepts totaling US $177.79 million in GEF financing and $12.94 million in associated Agency fees, and with co-financing amounting to $861.42 million, will also be considered for approval.
In addition, on 30 October 2014, the 17th meeting of the Least Developed Countries Fund and the Special Climate Change Fund (LDCF/SCCF) Council will convene. A consultation with CSOs will take place on 27 October.
