The third meeting of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF 2015) will convene at UN Headquarters in New York, US, from 26 June to 8 July 2015, on the theme “strengthening integrations, implementation and review – the HLPF after 2015.”

Meeting under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the HLPF is convening during a critical period during the negotiations of the post-2015 development agenda, with the expected adoption of outcomes, including sustainable development goals (SDGs) in September 2015. The meeting is expected to bring together governments, the UN system, other intergovernmental organizations, scientists, major groups and other civil society members to address issues related to sustainable development.

The HLPF will reflect on how to review progress towards the SDGs and the overall sustainable development agenda, and its role in this regard. In addition, the HLPF will: address integrated policies to achieve sustainable development; follow up on outcomes of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD or Rio+20) and the Samoa Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS); and discuss the science-policy interface, countries in special situations, and regional dimensions. The HLPF will base discussions in part on the Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR).
