On Saturday morning, 22 January, delegates met in a closing plenary to hear reports on the thematic segment and public forum, and adopt the Hyogo Declaration and the programme outcome document "Building the Resilience of Nations and Communities to Disasters: Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015."

Conclusions of the World Conference on Disaster Reduction: 



In their closing remarks, delegates expressed appreciation and gratitude to the ISDR Secretariat, the Government of Japan and Prefecture of Hyogo, WCDR President Murata (Japan), and applauded the spirit of commitment shown by participants in taking steps towards reducing disaster risk.
