Fifth Clean Energy Ministerial Addresses Finance, Markets and Energy-Water Nexus

OWG 11 Expands List of Goals and Targets

9 May 2014: Participants in the 11th session of the UN General Assembly Open Working Group (OWG) on Sustainable Development Goals considered a list of 16 “focus areas” and approximately 150 potential targets, as contained in the working document for the session. More.

Forest Asia Conference Discusses Landscape Approach to Forestry

6 May 2014: Participants at the Forests Asia Summit 2014 committed to promote a landscape approach in forestry management, research and education. Summit participants also supported strategies to promote green growth policies, strengthen law enforcement in relation to land tenure, land use and trade, develop a low-carbon economy and reaffirm the potential for REDD+. African Conference on Inequalities Results in Accra Declaration

30 April 2014: The Pan-African Conference on Inequalities in the Context of Structural Transformation agreed on the Accra Declaration on Inequalities in the Context of Structural Transformation. The Declaration will contribute to the Common African Position on the post-2015 development agenda, and will be used to support Agenda 2063, which is the African Union's strategy for “the future we want for Africa.” More.


Global Oceans Action Summit Charts a Path for Ocean Health, Blue Growth

25 April 2014: Urgent, coordinated action is needed to restore productive, resilient oceans, ensure food security and support human livelihoods, according to participants at the Global Oceans Action Summit for Food Security and Blue Growth. The Summit also called for oceans to be embedded in the post-2015 development agenda, preferably in a stand-alone sustainable development goal on oceans. More.
