CCAC Sets Priorities to Reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants

27 April 2017: Organized by the Ministry of Environment of Chile and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to Reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (CCAC), the 20th meeting of the CCAC Working Group focused on: setting priorities for 2017 and 2018 to ramp up efforts to reduce short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs), especially black carbon; planning for the 2017 High Level Assembly (HLA); following up on previous HLA commitments; deciding on future funding for initiatives; and showcasing and inspiring action to access financing for projects and the CCAC Trust Fund. PrepCom 3 Advances Discussions on High Seas Biodiversity Agreement

7 April 2017: At the third session of the Preparatory Committee (PrepCom 3) on the elements of a draft text of an international legally binding instrument on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biodiversity beyond national jurisdiction (BBNJ) under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), delegations were asked to elaborate their vision for the backbone and key content of such an agreement. SEforAll Forum Seeks to Accelerate Energy Access, Productivity

5 April 2017: The 3rd Sustainable Energy for All Forum brought together representatives from government, business, civil society and international organizations to broker new partnerships and ideas, spur investment and drive action towards sustainable energy, while sharing stories on how they are making progress towards realizing Sustainable Development Goal 7 (affordable and clean energy). The Forum also launched the third edition of the 'Global Tracking Framework' on the delivery of universal access to modern energy services, doubling the share of renewable energy, and doubling the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency by 2030.
