After the big Conferences of the Parties, Governing Councils and Summits meet, the real work begins. Actions specified in the agreements must be undertaken, national legislation may need to be adjusted, and the necessary changes and programmes to bring results on the ground must be identified and developed. We at IISD Reporting Services most often bring you the (sometimes) lofty debates and agreements at the big Conferences, Councils and Summits. Occasionally, we are able to sit in on meetings that follow actions closer to the ground. In February and March we are bringing you a number of these discussions, beginning with the Second International Workshop on Community-Based Adaptation to Climate Change in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and continuing with two Climate Technology Initiative Joint Seminars, one examining Successful Cases of Technology Transfer in Asian Countries and the other examining Small-Scale Industrial Energy Efficiency Projects in CDM and JI. We find that these meetings offer one way to explore the vertical dimensions of international environmental regimes, and hope you will too.
