Fourth Global Meeting of the Mountain Partnership

Mountain PartnershipThe Mountain Partnership is a United Nations voluntary alliance of partners dedicated to improving the lives of mountain people and protecting mountain environments around the world. The fourth global meeting will take place from 17-19 September 2013, in Erzurum, Turkey.

The objective of the meeting is to: endorse the 2014-17 Mountain Partnership Strategy and Governance document and discuss its implementation; select the Mountain Partnership Steering Committee members; define a joint effort to provide appropriate follow-up to the Rio+20 process and to the Sustainable Development Goals; and exchange information and facilitate networking among members.

During the event, a Partnership Fair will provide a formal space for Mountain Partnership Members to present their ongoing or upcoming activities with the aim of forging new collaborations within the Partnership and to launch joint initiatives. Side events will also take place during the meeting.

IISD RS will provide daily web updates during this meeting and will provide a summary report of it which will be available on this site on Sunday, 22 September 2013.
