Twenty-fifth Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer

Ozone Secretariat
The twenty-fifth Meeting of Parties to the Montreal Protocol convened for the first day of the high-level segment on Thursday, 24 October, in Bangkok, Thailand.

Following opening statements from dignitaries and a presentation of traditional dance and music, delegates heard reports on: the status of ratification; the work of the assessment panels; and the multilateral fund. Delegates heard statements from the heads of delegations during the morning and afternoon plenary sessions. The contact groups on additional information on ODS alternatives, terms of reference for the study on the MLF replenishment for 2015-2017, and additional funding to maximize climate benefits, and the discussion group on HFCs management met for further discussion.

In the evening delegates were invited to a dinner hosted by the Government of Thailand.
