Ozone Secretariat

On Thursday, OEWG 33 delegates met in a brief plenary session in the morning to consider issues related to: HFC management; changes to membership of the TEAP; operational and organizational issues of the TEAP; nominations for essential-use exemptions; and the TEAP report on additional information on alternatives to ODS.

OEWG 33 Co-Chair Camargo adjourned plenary at 12:30pm to allow delegates to conduct their work in contact and discussion groups. Work addressed in these groups in the afternoon and evening included: discussion of the implications of the UNCSD (Rio+20) outcome document for SIDS; funding of production facilities for HCFCs; terms of reference of the study on the 2015-2017 MLF replenishment; additional funding to maximize the climate benefits of accelerated phase-out of HCFCs; HFC management (related to the proposals to amend the Montreal Protocol); and nominations to the TEAP.

Plenary will reconvene at noon on Friday.
