The 35th Meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group reconvened in Bangkok on Friday, 24 April 2015

The thirty-fifth meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG 35) of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer convened for its final day on Friday, 24 April 2015. OEWG 35 spent the morning discussing possible ways forward on HFCs. At midday it was decided to reconvene informal discussions begun the previous evening, facilitated by Australia and Brazil. The informal discussions led to an agreement to continue work intersessionally in an informal manner to study the feasibility and ways of managing HFCs, including challenges set out in an annex, with a view to the establishment of a contact group.

After reviewing and making minor amendments to the meeting report, OEWG 35 closed at 5:15 pm.

IISD Reporting Services has provided a summary and analysis from the 2nd Workshop on Hydrofluorocarbon Management and the 35th Meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol, in HTML and PDF.
