The Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS), together with the UN Environment Programme, the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), Landesa, and the Global Land Indicators Initiative and the Global Land Tool Network, is convening a High Level Event on ‘Follow-Up and Review of the Post-2015 Development Agenda,’ on 2 November, in Nairobi, Kenya, at the Global Land Tool Network’s 6th Partners Meeting. The High-Level event coincides with the beginning of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and aims to address the necessary requirements for an effective follow-up and review of the Post-2015 Development Agenda for land and natural resources. The event will address the potential role the Global Land Tool Network and its partners can play in assisting national governments to conduct follow-up and review of soil and land-related SDGs. The event will explore this together with representatives from governments, the UN system, civil society and academia towards finding common strategies for engagement in the run-up to the next High-Level Political Forum in 2016, the 71st UN General Assembly and beyond. The event is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL). |
