SDSN This Conference, to be held on 15 February 2018 in Bern, Switzerland, will officially launch the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Switzerland. The SDSN aims to provide an environment to discuss challenges faced by Switzerland in the context of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, as well as the Addis Ababa Action Agenda on Financing for Development.

The Conference will bring together around 250 representatives and decisionmakers from science and research, think tanks, government, civil society, business and international organizations to discuss how to effectively implement these international sustainability agreements in Switzerland and beyond. It aims to: analyze the opportunities and challenges for Switzerland around the 2030 Agenda; deepen the understanding on transformation processes towards sustainability; and connect representatives across the science-policy-society spectrum to catalyze transdisciplinary collaboration on sustainable development solutions.

The SDSN Launch Conference provides an opportunity for in-depth discussions, mutual learning, as well as co-creation and brainstorming on sustainable development solutions. Breakout sessions will address: sustainable finance; the research agenda for the transition to sustainability; consumer behavior; the nexus Climate – Water – Energy – Land; urban development; governance systems; digitalization; circular economy; and social equity and equal opportunities. Plenary sessions will address: connecting the stories and topics towards a common SDGs narrative for Switzerland; and how SDSN Switzerland can be a platform to catalyze cross-sectoral collaboration and drive implementation towards the 2030 Agenda.
