On the final day of the third session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-3), high-level delegates convened in a wrap-up plenary session in the morning to hear a summary of commitments from governments and other stakeholders. Following brief reports on the outcome of the Leadership and Multi-Stakeholder Dialogues held on Tuesday, the plenary considered and adopted the UNEA-3 Ministerial Declaration. Many speakers praised UNEA-3 President Edgar Gutiérrez-Espeleta for steering a transparent and inclusive process that enabled consensus to be achieved.

Following the adoption of 11 resolutions and three decisions, and final statements from countries, Gutiérrez-Espeleta declared UNEA-3 officially closed at 5:37 pm.

IISD Reporting Services, through its Earth Negotiations Bulletin (ENB) Meeting Coverage, has provided daily web coverage, daily reports, and will provide a summary and analysis report from OECPR-3 and UNEA-3 on Saturday 9 December, 2017.
