On Thursday, 10 November 2016, the event “Building Resilience and Adaptation Measures with Co-Mitigation Benefits in the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf” took place at the Marrakech Climate Change Conference (COP22).

This video showcases local, national and regional measures in the Arabian Gulf and Red Sea regions to strengthen resilience and adaption. Projects highlighted include sustainable fisheries, improved storm water drainage, water conservation, and coastal ecosystem protection and restoration. Community engagement and regional coordination are considered key components of success.

This side event was organized by the Gulf Cooperation Council.
