SECOND REGIONAL NGO CONFERENCE ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CCD IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN: NGOs from the Latin American and Caribbean region will meet in Havana, Cuba, from 7-8 March 1997, to develop a regional networking mechanism, project proposals, and prepare contributions for COP-1 and the regional programme of action. FIRST NGO WORKSHOP ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CCD IN ANGLOPHONE WEST AFRICA: Thirty NGOs from Anglophone West Africa will meet in Kano, Nigeria, in April 1997 to familiarize themselves with the CCD, set up a subregional NGO network, and prepare action plans.
