ARTICLE 8 -- RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER CONVENTIONS:

The brackets were removed around the first paragraph, which encourages coordination of activities carried out under this Convention and other relevant international agreements. The second paragraph remains in brackets since the US insisted that it would have to be revisited once the rest of the Convention is complete. It says that the provisions of this Convention shall not affect the rights or obligations of any Party under agreements that it has entered into prior to the entry into force of this Convention.
