ARTICLE 26 -- COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION:

This article provides for a reporting mechanism by the Parties to the Convention on the activities they have undertaken to meet their obligations. Bracketed text refers to the extent of the obligations of the Convention. The developed countries prefer less binding language such as "may," while the developing countries prefer to use "shall" or "in compliance with."
