IRAN:
The representative said that INCD-6, in January 1995, is of
significant importance to ensure progress in combating desertification.
The implementation of the Convention depends on the provision of
substantial new and additional financial resources " between US$10 and
22.4 billion, as estimated by UNEP. The GEF will serve as a financing
source for the Convention, but the GEF replenishment is insufficient.
