JAPAN
: Ichiro Kamoshita, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of
Environment, noted that the measures that have been taken as a
result of the UNCED process have been of a curative nature, and the
root of these problems must now be addressed. Japan will
restructure its own socio-economic system, so that future
generations may inherit favorable environmental conditions.
