Jean-Eugene Kakou Mayaza, Minister of Water, Forests and the Environment, said efforts must be made by developing countries themselves and developed countries must respect commitments of Rio, including the provision of new and additional financial resources. Stress should be placed on administration of forests, preservation of biodiversity and land resources.
