ICPD PREPCOM I

The Preparatory Committee had its first substantive session in New York from 4-8 March 1991. At that meeting, it recommended the adoption of a draft resolution (later adopted by ECOSOC as resolution 1991/93) that further defined the objectives and themes of the meeting, identified groups of priority issues and proposed convening six expert group meetings, regional population conferences and two additional PrepComs to prepare for the Conference.
