SRI LANKA:

Amb. Stanley Kalpage said that particular attention should be paid to education, health, employment and gender issues, such as the role and status of women and the barriers for equality between men and women, as well as population distribution and international and national migration. The ICPD should also consider resource mobilization and allocation, the role of governments and NGOs, and international cooperation. Low income countries should be provided with continued support by the international community to enable them to consolidate their achievements in the areas of population and development.
