ZIMBABWE:

The delegate from Zimbabwe made the following points with regard to the annotated outline: the need for new and additional financial resources should be more explicit; regarding gender equality and empowerment of women, the focus should be on the full integration of women into development, not just population; and the document should mention the minimum legal age of consent. In the chapter on the family there is a need to mention vulnerabilities such as drug and alcohol abuse. The problems relating to the high proportion of youth in the population of some countries must also be addressed. Finally, there is an overlap between the chapters on reproductive health (VII) and health and mortality (VIII).
