IN THE CORRIDORS

The speed at which the Chairman's negotiating text is being dealt with, and the number of Like-Minded core group meetings that have met during the evenings of last week suggest that an L.11/Rev.2 may be about to emerge. A Like-Minded meeting is scheduled for tonight.

NGOs have mixed feelings about how fast delegates have dealt with the issues at stake, and while they remain pleased with the speedy review of the Chair's negotiating text and that negotiations have begun in earnest, NGOs are concerned at the hardening of ideologies. Other NGOs expressed disappointment that many of the core issues of sustainable resource management had not been effectively emphasized and hoped that States would give further consideration to these in Plenary.
