INDIA:

Stating that the country is home to 6.5% of the world's wild species and one of 12 "mega-biodiversity centers," India explained that even prior to UNCED it undertook conservation measures that are now provisions of the Convention. India is in the process of ratifying the Convention and developing a national plan.
