UNITED KINGDOM:
Stating that although this issue requires an
international effort, the UK emphasized the need for national
action and encouraged other EC countries in this direction. A
progress report on the UK's national plan is currently available
and a final version will be published in December 1993. The UK also
underscored the importance of bilateral and international
contributions, especially for countries "rich in biodiversity but
poor in resources."
