RAMSAR CONVENTION
: The representative from the Ramsar
Convention Secretariat, speaking on behalf of existing
international environmental convention secretariats, urged
governments to sign, ratify or accede to those international
conventions in the field of environment to which they are eligible
to become parties. He offered support to the Biodiversity
Secretariat to avoid duplication of efforts.
