INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS III: This conference, entitled “Intellectual Property Rights III - Global Genetic Resources: Access and Property Rights Workshop,” will be held at the Holiday Inn Capitol, 550 C Street, SW, Washington DC, USA from 4-6 June 1997. The conference will review factors affecting global access to plant genetic resources and the effect of intellectual property rights on the exchange of these materials. SPECIAL SESSION OF THE UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY: The Special Session of the UN General Assembly is scheduled for 23-27 June 1997. The third meeting of the Ad Hoc Group on Biosafety (BSWG-3) is scheduled for 13-17 October 1997 in Montreal. The Fourth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP-4) will be held in Bratislava, Slovakia, from 4-15 May 1998.
