Commitment 2:

This commitment calls for the eradication of poverty. To achieve this goal, national actors should provide for basic needs, ensure access to productive resources, ensure adequate economic and social protection, and seek to reduce inequalities. International actors are called upon to evaluate their own programmes and [assist and] support countries to eradicate poverty and ensure basic social protection.
