IISD Reporting Services - UN Interagency Task Force on NCDs The World Health Organization and the Russian Federation are organizing the event: “Friends of the UN Inter-Agency Task Force on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs): Supporting Member States to achieve the NCD-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets” on the occasion of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly. The panel discussion will: provide an overview of the current work of the Task Force; explain how it helps countries to progress towards the NCD-related SDGs targets; and highlight the plans and requirements for implementing countries to move the NCD agenda forward, in particular through the Task Force led Global Joint Programmes on NCD Governance, cancer control, cervical cancer and mobile health.
