Rachel Kyte spoke Saturday, 1 September with Earth Negotiations Bulletin editors Lynn Wagner and Steve Wise. She said...

      Feminism is not gender specific

The solution is about sharing decision-making, sharing power and allowing people to be individuals but collectively responsible.

Critical issues include cultural relativism, universality of human rights, impact of economic policies on women's lives, women's health and financial institutions.

The conference is a showcase that may not support progress made by women in the past five years.

Kyte is a senior policy analyst with the International Women's Health Coalition. She is a former director of Women's Environment and Development Organization (WEDO) and has participated in most of the major environment and development conferences since Rio.

The interviews are formatted as RealAudio files.
