On Saturday, delegates to the 14th Session of Working Group III (WGIII) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) continued working through the draft text of the Summary for Policymakers (SPM) of the WGIII contribution to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6). WGIII’s contribution focuses on mitigation of climate change.

Delegates met in two plenary sessions to consider text related to system transformations to limit global warming. In contact group meetings, delegates discussed sections and subsections in the SPM relating to, inter alia:

  • a policy toolbox on mitigation;
  • recent developments and current trends related to GHG emissions; and
  • emissions from urban and other settings and the building and transport sectors.

 WGIII will take a break on Sunday and resume its work on Monday, 28 March.
