Africa Carbon Forum

On Friday, 5 September 2008, the Africa Carbon Forum continued with parallel sessions on: emerging priorities in capacity building; project registration and risks; lessons on land use, land-use change and forestry for Africa; and assuring delivery of Certified Emission Reductions and project performance. In the afternoon, a plenary session was held on the path forward for Africa now and beyond post-2012. In addition, training sessions were organized on a number of topics and participants continued to visit the trade fair throughout the day. Plenary: The Path Forward: Now and Beyond 2012 |
Ogunlade Davidson, IPCC Working Group III (right), stressed the need to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations and generate revenues for adaptation. He identified ample opportunities for projects in Africa and stressed that funding should be channeled through the UNFCCC. |
