The ministerial segment of the twelfth session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN-12) concluded on Thursday, 12 June 2008, at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. Ministers, heads of delegations and their advisors met in the morning to hear the President’s summary of the ministerial policy dialogue, agree to the AMCEN Johannesburg Declaration, and adopt eight decisions, including on climate change and the implementation of the Action Plan for the Environment Initiative of NEPAD. Mali offered, and delegates agreed, to host AMCEN-13.
